A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, was called to order by Mayor Doak S. Campbell in the
Councll Chambers at City Hall at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 7, 1984.
Roll call showed:
Present - Council Member Malcolm T. Bird
Council Member Marie Horenburger
Council Member Arthur Jackel
Council Member Jimmy Weatherspoon
Mayor Doak S. Campbell
Absent - None
Also present were - City Manager James L. Pennington, and
City Attorney Herbert W.A. Thiele.
hayor Campbell called the meeting to order and announced
that this meeting has been called for the purpose of (1) considering
passage of Resolution No. 61-84 for Development of Barwick Park Phase
II.
1. The City Manager presented Resolution No. 61-84:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICA-
TION TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RE-
SOURCES REQUESTING AND SETTING FORTH THE NEED FOR FUNDS
IN REGARD TO: DEVELOPMENT OF BARWICK PARK PHASE II.
(Copy of Resolution No. 61-84 is on file in the official
Resolution Book)
Mrs. Horenburger moved for the adoption of Resolution No.
61-84, seconded by Mr. Jackel. Upon roll call Council voted as follows:
Mr. Bird - Yes; Mrs. Horenburger - Yes; Mr. Jackel - Yes; Mr.
Weatherspoon - Yes; Mayor Campbell - Yes. Said motion passed with a 5
to 0 vote.
Before roll call, the City Manager advised this is the same
application that the City submitted last year and was not approved; this
is a second try at the project. Upon question by Mr. Weatherspoon, the
City Manager stated that the difference between this application and
last year's is the guidelines at the State level.
At this point the roll was called to the motion.
Mayor Campbell declared the meeting adjourned at 7:05 P.M.
