A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, was called to order by Doak S. Campbell in the Council
Chambers at City Hall at 5:20 P.M., Friday, October 19, 1984.
Roll call showed:
Present - Council Member Malcolm T. Bird
Council Member Marie Horenburger
Council Member Arthur Jackel
Council Member Jimmy Weatherspoon
Mayor Doak S. Campbell
Absent - None
Also present were - City Manager James L. Pennington, and
City Attorney Herbert W.A. Thiele.
Mayor Campbell called the meeting to order and announced
that this meeting has been called for the purpose of (1) considering
public hearing and passage of Resolution No. 82-84 relative to the
exchange of City property located along the east right-of-way of Con-
gress Avenue, approximately ¼ mile north of Lake Ida Road for property
owned by Shell Oil Company adjacent to the Regional Treatment Plant.
1. The City Attorney advised that two things need to be done
relative to the exchange of the property between the cities jointly and
Shell Oil Company: conduct a public hearing on the exchange pursuant to
the provisions of our ordinances and adopt the resolution.
The City Manager presented Resolution No. 82-84:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, PURSUANT TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, AND SECTION 2-7(b) OF THE CODE OF ORDI-
NANCES OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
THE EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY ~4NED BY THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH LOCATED IN SECTION 8, TOWNSHIP 46 SOUTH, RANGE 43
EAST.

The City Attorney read the caption of the resolution. A
public hearing was held having been legally advertised in compliance
with the laws of the State of Florida and the Charter of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida.
Mr. David Nathanson, resident of the Pines of Delray North,
stated he wished to express the gratitude of the unit owners of the
Pines of Delray North for effecting this transfer.
The public hearing was closed.
Mr. Jackel moved for the passage of Resolution No. 82-84,
seconded by Mr. Bird. Upon roll call Council voted as follows: Mr.
Bird - Yes; Mrs. Horenburger - Yes; Mr. Jackel - Yes; Mr. Weatherspoon -
Yes; Mayor Campbell - Yes. Said motion passed with a 5 to 0 vote.
Mayor Campbell declared the meeting adjourned at 5:25 P.M.
