02-02-82SpMtg (2) FEBRUARY 2, 1982 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, was held in the Council Chambers at 11:47 A.M., Tuesday, February 2, 1982, with Mayor Leon M. Weekes, presiding and City Manager Gordon D. Tiffany, City Attorney Herbert W.A. Thiele, and Council mem- bers James H. Scheifley and Charlotte G. Durante present. Council members Bird and Blair were absent. Mayor Weekes called the meeting to order and announced that this meeting has been called for the purpose of considering (1) accept- ance of the bids for sale of a 1968 - 38' Chris Craft Vessel; and (2) acceptance of the bids for sale of a 1976 - 33' Egg Harbor Vessel. Mr. Jim Graham, auctioneer, reported that the Chris Craft brought a high bid of $24,000, which bid was made by Mr. Jerry Heacock of 280 Warwick Avenue, Ormond Beach, Florida. He reported further that the Egg Harbor brought a high bid of $37,000, which bid was made by Mr. Donald B. Wilkins of 431 Thatch Palm Drive, Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Graham advised that each of the above-mentioned bidders has given the $5,000 deposit which will be turned over to the City. Mrs. Durante moved to accept the high bid of $24,000 from Mr. Donald B. Wilkins for the Chris Craft and to accept the high bid of $37,000 from Mr. Jerry Heacock for the Egg Harbor vessel, seconded by Mr. Scheifley. Said motion passed unanimously. Mayor Weekes declared the meeting adjourned at 11:50 P.M.
