with Mayor Leon M. Weekes, presiding and City Manager J. Eldon Mariott, City
Attorney Roger Saberson, and Council members Malcolm T. Bird, Charlotte G.
Durante, and Willard V. Young, present. Council member Scheifley was absent.
(1) The City Manager reported that Ordinance No. 22-80 relative to the
annexation of property (Chevron U.S.A., Inc. applicant) is before Council for

(Copy of Ordinance No. 22-80 is on file in the official Ordinance Book)
The Ci~ Manager read the caption of the ordinance. A public hearing
was held having been legally advertised in compliance with the laws of the
State of Florida and the Charter of the City of Delray Beach, Florida. The
public hearing was closed.
Mr. Bird moved for adoption of Ordinance No. 22-80 on Second and FINAL
Reading, seconded by Mr. Young. Upon roll call Council voted as follows: Mr.
Bird - Yes; Mrs. Durante - Yes; Mr. Young - Yes; Mayor Weekes - Yes. Said
motion passed with a 4 to 0 vote.
Mrs. Marion MacLeod stated that Delray's Land Use Plan designates the
lower half of Federal Highway as RM-10. She recently learned that the new
County Land Use Plan designates South Federal Highway, south of Linton Boule-
vard, as commercial. She talked to the Planning Director, Harry King, in West
Palm Beach as well as several other people there and the County is willing to
change their commercial designation on South Federal to be in accordance with
Delray's designation. There is to be a hearing on June 3rd. She asked the
Planning & Zoning Board, at their meeting this morning, if it was suitable for
them to write a letter for her to take to the hearing; she has a copy of their
minutes in which they state that they would prefer that the City Council write
a letter to Commissioner Grego~.
Mr. Bird moved to authorize the Mayor to direct a letter to Mr. Gregory,
seconded by Mr. Young. Said motion passed unanimously.
The City Manager passed around photographs taken during the visit of the
delegation from Miyazu, Japan and added that their tour of the Ci~ facilities
went very well.
Mayor Weekes declared the meeting adjourned at 7:10 P.M.
