09-05-78SpMtg SEPTEMBER 5t 1978 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, was held in the Council Chambers at 7:00 P.M., Tues- day, September 5, 1978, with Vice-Mayor Robert D. Chapin presiding, City Manager J. Eldon Mariott, City Attorney Roger Saberson and Council Members Charlotte G. Durante, Aaron I. Sanson, IV., and James H. Scheifley present. Mayor Leon M. Weekes was on vacation. Vice-Mayor Chapin called the meeting to order and announced that same had been called for the purpose of considering approval of the contract to purchase the Delray Beach Country Club. The City Attorney advised that the contract that was sent out with the note to Council shows in underlining the additions to the contract and the changes in the contract. With regard to the delivery date of the bonds and proceeds, the City Attorney advised that he had spoken with Stan Ross, the City's fiscal agent, this date and was ad- vised that bids would be received and opened during the month of Novem- ber and hopefully we will have the proceeds in the middle of December. Upon question by Mr. Scheifley, Vice-Mayor Chapin and the City Manager replied that they Were both satisfied with the agreement as set forth. Mr. Scheifley moved that the agreement presented to Council by City Attorney Saberson,which has the approval of the Administration and Vice-Mayor for the sale and purchase of the Delray Beach Country Club by the City, be approved and signed and authority given the Administration and City Council to make minor changes if necessary, seconded by Mrs. Durante. The motion passed unanimously.
