Monday, January 31; 1977, with Mayor James H. Scheifley presiding,
and City Manager J. Eldon Mariott, City Attorney Rogor Saberson, and
Council members Jolm E. Gomory, Jr., David E. Randolph, Aaron I.
Sanson, ]iV, and Leon M. Wcekes, pres;ent.
Mayor Scheifley stated tb.'~t the Special Meeting was called
for th~ purpose of considering Emergency Ordinance No. 6-77.
The City Manager read the caption of the Ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 27 "WATER
AND SANITARY SEWERAGE: OF THE CITY'S CODE OF
ORDINANCES BY REPEALING SECTION 27-2 (b) (1) (2)
(.3) AND (4) EXCEPTIONS TO WATER CONNECTION CHARGE
AND INSERTING A NEW SECTION 27~2 (b) (1) (2) AND
(3); REPEALING SECTION 27-28.1 (1) (2) (3) AND
(4) EXCEPTIONS TO SEWER CONNECTION CHARGE AND
INSERTING A NEW SECTION 27-28.1 (1) (2) AND (3);
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
City AttOrney Saberson staged the word "water" should be
changed to the word "sewer" in two places in Section 2.
Mr. Weekes moved for the pass..age of Emergency Ordinance No.
6-77, on First and Final Reading, seconded by Mr. Randolph. Upon
roll call, Council voted as follows: Mr. Gomery - Yes; Mr. Randolph -
Yes; Mr. Sanson - No; Mr' Weekes - Yes; Mayor Scheifley - Yes. The
motinn passed with a 4 to ! vote.
Mr. Randolph moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by
Mr. Gomery, said motion passing unanimously The meeting adjourned
at 5:10 P.M.
