11-20-74SpMtg NOVEMBER 20, 1974 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, was held in the Council Chambers at 12:20 P.M., Wednesday, November 20, 1974, with Mayor James H. Scheifley presiding, City Manager J. Eldon Mariott, City Attorney G. Robert Fellows, and Council members Grace S. Krivos, David E. Randolph present. Mr. Jack L. Saunders and Mr. Leon M. Weekes were absent. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America was given. Mayor Scheifley called the meeting to order and announced that same had been called for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the November 19th Primary Election in the City of Delray Beach, and for any other business that may come before the meeting. The City Clerk reported the results of the Primary Election held on Tuesday, November 19, 1974 for Councilmen for the term of two years were as follows: John A. J. ~ack) Collins, Jr. 1002 Andrew M. Gent 1111 Aaron I. CRon) Sanson, IV 863 William A. Saunders 320 Roy M. Simon 905 Total Votes cast 4201 Total Voters 2254 Mayor Scheifley stated in the absence of any declaration of contest by any of the Candidates in this election, Council should accept the report of the Election Returns submitted by the Clerks and Inspectors of the Election. He requested the record show he had the detailed report from the City Clerk which is available to the Council members, said report covering each precinct with the proper signatures validating each. Mrs. Krivos moved to accept the report of the Election returns as submitted by the Clerks and Inspectors, seconded by Mr. Randolph. .It was suggested an amendment to the motion include the names of the winners of the election. Mrs. Krivos amended her motion with the inclusion of the names of Andrew M. Gent, John A. J. Collins, Jr., Aaron I. Sanson, IV and Roy M. Simon. Mr. Randolph accepted the amendment. The motion passed unanimously. Question was raised concerning the proposed dissolution of the Delray Beach Housing Authority. The City Manager stated it would be discussed at the next workshop meeting. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:25 P.M. ~~Ci.t~ler k~~' APPROVED: MAYOR
