Res 30-94 RESOLUTION NO. 30-94 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING MEMBERS. TO THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE, PURSUANT TO STATE LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the State of Florida, under specific authority established by State Statute, has established the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) Program, which requires the City to establish an Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee was established pursuant to Ordinance No. 2-93, passed and adopted on second and final reading by the City Commission on February 23, 1993; and WHEREAS, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee membership was established by Resolution No. 17-93 and Resolution No. 29-93, passed and adopted by the City Commission on March 10, 1993 and March 23, 1993, respectively; and WHEREAS, four (4) of the nine members were appointed to initial terms of one year, commencing on April 1, 1993, and ending on March 31, 1994; and WHEREAS, these members are desirous of continuing their service on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and are eligible to serve for an additional two year term. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the following members of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee are hereby appointed by the City Commission to terms commencing on April 1, 1994, and ending on March 31, 1996: Ms. Wanda Gadson, a citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage industry, for a term of two years; Ms. Judith A. Colvard, a citizen who is a real estate professional, for a term of two years; Mr. Arthur L. Fleming, a citizen appointed at large, for a term of two years; Ms. Anne M. Gannon, a citizen appointed at large, for a term of two years. Section 2. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage. SUBJECT: AGENDA ITEM # ~ - MEETING OF MARCH 22, 1994 RESOLUTION NO. 30-94/APPOINTMENTS TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE DATE: MARCH 18, 1994 In March of 1993, the City Commission adopted Resolution Nos. 17-93 and 29-93 appointing nine members to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Five members were appointed to initial terms of two years, while four members were appointed to initial one year terms. The terms were to commence on April 1, 1993, and end on March 31st of each year thereafter. Hence, the initial one year terms will expire on March 31, 1994. The four members are: Wanda Gadson, appointed as a citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage industry; Judith A. Colvard, appointed as a citizen who is a real estate professional; Arthur Fleming, appointed as a citizen at large; and Anne M. Gannon, appointed as a citizen at large. All are interested in continuing their service on the committee and are eligible for appointment to a second term. The term of office is for two (2) years, commencing April 1, 1994, and ending on March 31, 1996. Appointment will be made through the adoption of Resolution No. 30-94. A check for outstanding code violations and/or municipal liens has been conducted. None of the prospective appointees has any violations or liens. Recommend approval of Resolution No. 30-94 appointing the four members named above to serve an additional two year term on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
