A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO EITHER
ENSURE THE AVAILABILITY OF OR BECOME AN INSURER FOR A
STATE INSURANCE PROGRAM COVERING PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND
EMPLOYEES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, recent state laws have caused a reluctance on the
part of private insurance companies to write public officials and
employees liability insurance,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the State Legislature is urged to enact
legislation either ensuring the availability of public officials and
employees liability insurance or becoming an insurer for a state program
covering the liability of municipal officials and employees.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on this the 16th day of
December, 1986.
