A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH,
FLORIDA, EXPRESSING THE APPRECIATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND
THE CITIZENS OF DELRAY BEACH FOR THE PALM BEACH COUNTY
COMMISSIONS ACTIONS IN ENACTING MANDATORY GARBAGE COLLEC-
TION WITHIN UNINCORPORATED PALM BEACH COUNTY; PROVIDING
FOR THE FURNISHING OF COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, in its resolution dated
April 2~, 19g~, urged the County Commission to pass an ordinance requiring mandatory garbage and
trash collection throughout the unincorporated areas of Palm Beach County in order to alleviate the
problem of trash piles and dumping within the City of Delray Beach and adjacent unincorporated areas;
and,
WHEREAS, the County Commission responded affirmatively to that request by enacting a
County ordinance requiring mandatory garbage collection in unincorporated Palm Beach County; and
WHEREAS, the City Gouncil of the Gity of Defray Beach wishes to express to the Palm
Beach County Commission its appreciation and the appreciation of its citizens and residents for the
assistance which the mandatory garbage provision will provide to the City in maintaining the health
and safety of its citizens and residents, and in beautifying the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, formally expresses
its appreciation and the appreciation of the citizens and residents of Delray Beach, Florida, to the
Palm Beach County Commission for enacting mandatory garbage and trash collection within
unincorporated Palm Beach County.
Section 2. That the City Council is hereby authorized and directed to furnish a copy of
this resolution to the members of the Palm Beach County Commission and any other entity or
individual requesting the same.
