A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING EFFORTS BY LOCAL AND NATIONAL VETERANS GROUPS,
MEMBERS OF CONGRESS AND CITIZENS TO HAVE A NATIONAL MONUMENT
ERECTED IN WASHINGTON, D. C., HONORING AMERICANS WHO FOUGHT IN
THE KOREAN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR FURNISHING OF COPIES OF THIS
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, is aware of the efforts by
various Members of Congress, Veterans Groups and Individuals to have a National Monument erected in
Washington, D. C. honoring Americans who fought in Korea; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is aware that House Bill 236 and Senate Bill 197 pertaining to
such a monument are now under consideration; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Delray Beach is of the~ belief that recognition for the
contributions and sacrifices made by those Americans is long overdue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. That the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, hereby urges the
prompt passage of a Congressional bill to provide for a Korean Veterans Memorial.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to furnish a copy of this
Resolution to members of the local Congressional Delegation and any other entity requesting same.
