Res 19-80 RESOLUTION NO. 19-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF SUCH SANITATION EQUIPMENT THAT WILL BE REQUIRED WHEN THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH TAKES OVER THE GARBAGE AND TRASH COLLECTION IN THE FRANCHISE AREA ON JULY 1, 1980. WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that the City Council award such contracts as are required for the purchase of sanitation equipment that will be required at the time of the takeover of the garbage and trash collection in the Franchise Area, the date of takeover being July 1, 1980; and, WHEREAS, the following bids were received as listed below: Bid No. 176 - Residential Refuse Collection Trucks (6) Container Systems & Equipment Co. No Bid Advance Fabricators No Bid Southland Equipment Corp. $57,755.00 ea. $346,530.00 Truxmore Industries, Inc. $38,250.00 ea. $229,500.00 Bid No. 177 - Self-contained Trash Trucks (7) Peterson Industrial Machine, Inc. $27,312.14 ea. $191,185.00 Trade-in 3 trash loaders $12,500.00 Trade-in 5 trucks $17,500.00 Total trade-in $30,000.00 Net Cost $161,185.00 and, WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that it is in the best interest of the City to award these contracts, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That a contract be awarded for the purchase of six resi- dential refuse collection trucks to the low bidder, Truxmore Industries, Inc. in the amount of $229,500.00, and that a contract be awarded for the purchase of seven self-contained trash trucks to the low bidder, Peterson Industrial Machine, Inc., in the amount of ($191,185.00- trade-in $30,000.00) $161,185.00. Section 2. That the funding for these contracts is to come from proposed garbage fee revenue bonds. PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on this the llth day of February, 1980. ~\MA Y O R ~ LEON M.
