Res 109-80 RESOLUTION NO. 109-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING A COMPLETE LIGHTING SYSTEM CONSISTING OF SERVICE, SIXTEEN (16) POLES, 144 FLOOD LIGHTS AND ALL ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL WORK FOR ROBERT P. MILLER PARK, PHASE II, LOCATED AT 1905 SOUTHWEST FOURTH AVENUE, CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that City Council award a contract for furnishing and installing a complete lighting system consisting of service, sLxteen (16) poles, 144 flood lights and all associated electrical work for Robert P. ~.~iller Park, Phase II, located at 1905 Southwest Fourth Avenue, City of Delray Beach, Florida; and, WHEREAS, three bids were received as follows: ADDITIONAL PRICE PER FOOT OF POLE OVER BIDDER QUOTATION THE 85 FEET REQUIRED Premier Electrical $240,833.00 $100.00 International Corp. Boca Raton, Florida C.R. Dunn, Inc. 199,897.00 $150.00 West Palm Beach Union Electric " Construction Corp. 233,433.00 No quote for West Palm Beach extra length (Alternate Bid) 198,360.00 and, ~HEREAS, the City Engineering Office certifies the low bid to be reasonable and the City Manager recommends that the City of Delray Beach enter into a contract with C.R. Dunn, Inc., West Palm Beach, Florida, to furnish and install a complete lighting system consisting of service, sixteen (16) poles, 144 flood lights and all associated electrical work for Robert P. Miller Park, Phase II, which contractor submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $199,897.00 plus $150.00 per foot of extra length of pole over the required 85 feet; and, YYHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida~ deems it to be in the best interest of the City to award said contract, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWerS: Section 1. That a contract to furnish and intall a complete lighting system consisting of service, sixteen (16) poles, 144 flood lights and all associated electrical work for Robert P. Miller Park, Phase II, is hereby awarded to C.R. Dunn, Inc., West Palm Beach, Florida, in the amount of $199,897.00 plus $150.00 per foot of extra length of pole over the required 85 feet. Section 2. That this improvement shall be funded with money from Capital Improvement Construction Fund, 1980 Bond Issue. PASSED A~D ADOPTED in regular session on this the 10th day of November , 1980.
