Res 63-79 RESOLUTION NO. 63-79 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION TO LIFT THE RESTRICTIONS ON THE ADDITION OF CHANNEL 17, WTCG, ATLANTA, GEORGIA, TO THE CABLE NETWORK OF LEADERSHIP CABLEVISION ASSOCIATES, LTD., OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the Federal Communications Commission has instituted restrictions preventing Leadership Cablevision Associates, Ltd., of Delray Beach, Florida, from carrying WTCG, Channel 17 of Atlanta, Georgia, on their cable television network; and, WHEREAS, the addition of Channel 17 to the cable television service of Leadership Cablevision Associates, Ltd., would greatly en- hance the viewing pleasure of the residents of the City of Delray Beach; and, WHEREAS, Leadership Cablevision Associates, Ltd., of Delray Beach, Florida, has requested the City Council of the City of Delray Beach to assist them in having the restrictions on such services lifted by the Federal Communications Commission; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of Delray Beach believes that it would be in the best interests of the residents of the City of Delray Beach for Leadership Cablevision Associates, Ltd., to obtain the ability to carry Channel 17, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, on behalf of the residents and citizens of Delray Beach, Florida, hereby requests that the Federal Communications Commission allow Leader- ship Cablevision Associates, Ltd., of Delray Beach, Florida, to carry WTCG, Channel 17, Atlanta, Georgia, at the earliest possible time. Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to provide a copy of this resolution to the appropriate offi- cials of the Federal Communications Commission and to other necessary public officials and agencies.
