A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF
A CONTRACT TO FURNISH ALL LABOR, MATERIAL AND EQUIP-
MENT TO CONSTRUCT AN ASPHALT STREET. THE FINISHED
GRADE MUST MEET T~E EDGE OF THE EXISTING PAVEMENT
AT ALL AVENUE INTERSECTIONS ON N.W. 1ST STREET BE-
TWEEN N.W. 10TH AVENUE AND N.W. 14TH AVENUE IN THE
CITY OF DELRAY BEACH.
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that the Council
acting by authority of provisions of Section 78 of the City's Charter,
award a contract to furnish all labor, material and equipment to construct
an asphalt street. The finished grade must meet the edge of the existing
pavement at all Avenue intersections as indicated above, in accordance with
City of Delray Beach Specifications, Drawing #112177.~
WHEREAS, requests for quotations were sent to the following construc-
tion companies and only one quotation was received.
Hardrives of Delray Inc. $32,950.00
Carr Soil & Sod -_Delray Beach No submittal
Dixie Asphalt - West Palm Beach No submittal
Rubin Construction - West Palm Beach No submittal
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Office certifies the only quoted price
of $32,950.00 to be reasonable and within the range of the City's estimate
cost for this project, and the City Manager recommends that the City of
Delray Beach enter into a contract with Hardrives of Delray, Inc., to
furnish all labor, material and equipment to construct said asphalt street
in accordance with the City's Specifications, Drawing #112177, and as
indicated on said bidder's Proposal of 11/28/77.
WHEREAS, it is the Council's opinion that the award of this contract
would be in the best interest of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That said contract to furnish all labor, material and
equipment to construct an asphalt street (the finished grade must meet the
edge of the existing pavement at all Avenue intersections on N.W. 1st Street
between N.W. 10th Avenue and N.W. 14th Avenue in the City of Delray Beach),
in accordance with City Specifications, Drawing ~112177, and as indicated
on said bidder's Proposal of 11/28/77, be awarded to Hardrives of Delray,
Inc., of Delray Beach, in the amount of $32,950.00
Section 2. That this improvement shall be funded with money from the
1975 Street Improvement General Obligation Bond Issue.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on this the 23rd day
