Res 17-78 Void (VOID) RESOLUTION NO. 17-78 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, TO THE TREASURE COAST REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL SUPPORTING THE PLANNING COUNCIL'S PARTICIPATION IN THE FOX DRI APPEAL AND OBJECTING TO THE CONSTRUC- TION OF THE FOX DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL IMPACT. WHEREAS, The FOx development will encompass aPproximately 1,705 acres of property and will be located just west of the West Palm Beach Water catchment area; and, WHEREAS, The Fox development when complete will contain approximately 10,004 dwelling units with an estimated population of 18,416. people, with a dwelling unit density of 5.87 units per acre; and, WHEREAS, The development as originally proposed: A. May have a significant effect on the transportation facilities of the area. B. May subject elderly residents to periodic flooding. C. Will destroy environmental productive vegetation and wetlands. D. Leave only 14.5 acres of the total site of 1,705 acres in its natural state, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the City supports the efforts of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council in its participation in the FOX DRI APPEAL and further, objects to the construction of the Fox development of regional impact unless and until the adverse impacts of such development have been properly resolved in the public interest. Section 2. That copies of this Resolution shall be forwarded to all members of the ~reasure Coast Regional Planning Council and its staff. PASSED AND ADOPTED in session on this the day of , 1978.
