A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY
BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING NEGOTIATION OF A CONTRACT
TO LOWER APPROXI~CATELY 650' OF EXISTING 6" CAST IRON
WATER MAIN ON DIXIE BOULEVARD, SOUTHRIDGE SUBDIVISION,
IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIRED DEPTH AS STIPULATED IN
THE CITY SPECIFICATIONS, AND RELOCATE APPROXIMATELY
325' OF EXISTING 6" CAST IRON WATER MAIN WITHIN THE
CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY ON BENJAMIN AVENUE, WHICH SECTION OF
WATER MAIN ENCROACHES ON PRIVATE PROPERTY IN SOUTH-
RIDGE SUBDIVISION, CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the request for the above remedial proposal was submitted by
the City's Public Utilities Department for appropriate action, and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Manager that the Council
award a contract to lower approximately 650' of existing 6" cast iron water i
main on Dixie Boulevard, Southridge Subdivision, in compliance with the re- i
quired depth as stipulated in the City Specifications, and relocate approxi-I
mately 325' of existing 6" cast iron water main within the City right-of-way!
on Benjamin Avenue, which section of water main encroaches on private pro-
perty in Southridge Subdivision, City of Delray Beach, Florida, and
WHEREAS, two quotations were submitted as follows:
Atlantic Pipeline Construction Inc. $2,275.00
Lake Park, Florida
Heavy Construction of N.P.B., Inc. $2,762.50
Lake Park, Florida
WHEREAS, the City Engineering Office certifies the quoted prices to be
reasonable and the City Manager recommends that the City of Delray Beach
enter into a contract with Atlantic Pipeline Construction Inc., Lake Park,
Florida, to lower approximately 650' of existing cast iron water main on
Dixie Boulevard, Southridge Subdivision, in compliance with the required
depth as stipulated in the City Specifications, and relocate approximately
325' of existing 6" cast iron water main within the City right-of-way on
Benjamin Avenue, Southridge Subdivision, which section of water main en-
croaches on private property in the City of Delray Beach, Florida,
WHICH COMPANY submitted the lowest quotation in the amount of $2,275
and,
WHEREAS, it is the Council's opinion that the award of this contract
would be in the best interest of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That said contract to perform the above-described work be
awarded to Atlantic Pipeline Construction Inc., Lake Park, Florida, in the
amount of $2,275.00.
Section 2. That this improvement shall be funded with money from
Water Distribution of the Water and Sewer Fund.
