A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, OF APPROVAL FOR CONSTRUC-
TION OF A "T"-PILE AND SLAB" TYPE SEAWALL AND BACK-
FILL WHERE APPROPRIATE AND ALSO CONSTRUCTION OF
ASSOCIATED PIERS NOT TO EXTEND MORE THAN FIVE FEET
INTO THE ANDROS CANAL FOR THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF
PREVENTING EROSION ON LOT 245 TROPIC ISLE SUB-
DIVISION, THIRD SECTION, CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, AS
RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 25, PAGE 37 PALM BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA, PUBLIC RECORDS.
WHEREAS, a request has been made by Randall F. Keller, AIA, Registered
Architect, as representative of the owner of said property located on Lot
245 Tropic Isle Subdivision, Third Section, City of Delray Beach, as record-
ed in Plat Book 25, Page 37, Palm Beach County, Florida, Public Records, for
approval to construct a "T"-pile and slab" type seawall and backfill where
appropriate and also construct associated piers not to extend more than five
feet into the Andros Canal for the primary purpose of preventing erosion on
said property, and,
WHEREAS, this approval by City Council of Delray Beach, Florida, will
be required, as set out in Florida State Regulations, Chapter 253.124 before
application for approval to construct a "T"-pile and slab" type seawall and
backfill where appropriate and also construct associated piers not to extend
more than five feet into the Andros Canal for the primary purpose of pre-
venting erosion on said property can be made to United States Army Corps of
Engineers, and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer's office has examined this request for the
construction of a "T"-pile and slab" ~ype seawall and backfill where appro-
priate and also construction of associated piers not to extend more than
five feet into the Andros Canal for the primary purpose of preventing
erosion on said property and certifies it to be within the requirement of
the City of Delray Beach, and the City Manager recommends that the City of
Delray Beach approve the request for the construction of a "T"-pile and slab"
type seawall and backfill where appropriate and also construction of
associated piers not to extend more than five feet into the Andros Canal for
the primary purpose of preventing erosion on said property, and,
WHEREAS, it is the Council's opinion that the approval of this request
would be in the best interest of the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That said request for construction of a "T"-pile and slab"
type seawall and backfill where appropriate and also construction of
associated piers not to extend more than five feet into the Andros Canal for
the primary purpose of preventing erosion on said property be approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session on this the ~Q~h day
