RESOLUTION CANVASSING TIIE RESULTS OF A BOND ELECTION
HELD IN THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, ON DECEMBER 3,
1974, AND DECLARING AND CERTIFYING THE RESULTS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, by
a resolution duly and regularly adopted at its meeting held on the 28th
day of October, 1974, did call an election to be held on the 3rd day of
December, 1974, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors
residing within the City, for their approval or disapproval of the
questions of whether the City should issue General Obligation Bonds in
the aggregate principal amount of not exceeding $4,229,000. consisting
of five separate issues of bonds, bearing interest at a rate or rates
not to exceed the legal rate fixed by law; and said resolution having
further provided and directed that notice of said election be given by
publication in accordance with law; and
WHEREAS, due and regular notice of said bond election has been
published in the Delray Beach News Journal, a newspaper of general circu-
lation in the City of Delray Beach, Florida, and said publications have
been made once each week for four consecutive weeks, with the first
publication thereof being not less than thirty days prior to the date of
said special election, to-wit: December 3, 1974; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the aforesaid resolution calling said election
and in accordance with law, the questions in said resolution stated were
submitted to the qualified electors residing in said City, for participa-
tion in the election on the date specified in said resolution, to-wit:
December 3, 1974; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the list of qualified electors who voted at
such election, has been returned to this City Council by the Inspectors
and Clerks together with the returns hereinafter mentioned; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said election has t~een duly and properly
held in accordance with law and that the votes cast thereat have been
returned, delivered and canvassed, and that the returns of said election
have been delivered to this City Council for the purpose of canvassing
said election returns and determining and certifying the results thereof;
and
WHEREAS, it appears from the official returns of said election so
delivered to this City Council and so canvassed b~ this City Council as
aforesaid that the total numbers of votes cast in said election by such
qualified electors, as above described, residing in said City approved
the issuance of Proposal No. 4 and disapproved Proposal Nos. 1, 2, 3 & 5;
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. The City Council at this meeting duly and regularly held,
have duly and regularly canvassed according to law the official returns of
said election and hereby determines, finds, declares and certifies the
results of such election, as follows:
Proposal No. 1 - $2,185,000 Bonds for Municipal Bui. ldinqs:
(a) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City in favor of the issue of the
bonds described in Proposal No. 1 was 1,348.
(b) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City against the issuance of the bonds
described in Proposal No. 1 was 2,102.
(c) A majority of the votes cast in such election by such
qualified electors residing in said City disapproved of the issuance of
the bonds submitted at such election under Proposal No. 1.
Proposal No. 2 - $78.0,000 Bonds for..the Acquisition of Land,
namely~ the Barr property on Atlantic Avenue, for Recreational and other
Municipal Purposes:
(a) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City in favor of the issuance of the
bonds described in Proposal.No. 2 was 1,095.
(b) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City against the issuance of the bonds
described in Proposal No. 2 was 2,321.
(c) A majority of the votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City disapproved of the issuance of
the bonds submitted in said election under Proposal No. 2.
Proposal No. 3 - $492,000 Bonds for Auditorium for Recreational
Purpo s es:
(a) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City in favor of the issuance of the
bonds described in Proposal No. 3 was 1,610.
(b) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City against the issuance of the bonds
described in Proposal No. 3 was 1,837.
(c) A majority of the votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City disapproved the issuance of the
bonds submitted at such election under Proposal No. 3.
Proposal No. 4 - $600,000 Bonds for Streets an~ Sidewalks:
(a) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City in favor of the issuance of the
bonds described in Proposal No. 4 was 1,973.
(b) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors' residing in said City against the issuance of the bonds
described in Proposal No. 4 was 1,509.
(c) A majority of the votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City approved of the issuance of the
bonds submitted in said election under Proposal No. 4.
Proposal No. 5 - $172,000 Bonds for Off-Street Parking Purp0.se~s.:
(a) The total number of votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City in favor of the issuance of the
bonds described in Proposal No. 5 was 1,351.
(b) The total number of votes cast in such election by said

qualified electors residing in said City against the issuance of the
bonds described in Proposal No. 5 was 2,046.
(c) A majority of the votes cast in such election by said
qualified electors residing in said City disapproved the issuance of
the bonds submitted in said election under Proposal No. 5.
SECTION 2. Said election was in all respects conducted in accord-
ance with law, and that all steps in connection with and preceding such
election have been duly, regularly and lawfully taken and had, and that
all provisions of the Statutes and Constitution of the State of Florida
have been duly complied with.
SECTION 3. That the issues of bonds approved at said election as
provided above may be issued at such time or times and with such other
details and conditions as shall be hereafter determined by the City
Counc il.
SECTION 4. Said returns shall be entered and recorded in the
minutes of the City Council; and this resolution, determination, finding,
declaration and certificate shall be recorded in the minutes of said
City Council.
SECTION 5. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Delray Beach,
Florida, on this the 4th day of December, 1974.
