Res 80-74 RESOLU'£ION NO. 80-74 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELt~Y BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF THE I~]SULTS OF THE t~EFERENDUM ELECTION TO TIIE CITY CitARTER HELD IN AND FO[~ THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH ON THE 3RD DAY OF DECEMBER, 1974. WHEREAS, a referendum election was held on the 3rd day of December, 1974, pursuant to Ordinance No. 58-74; and, WHEREAS, the duly appointed and acting Clerks and Inspectors of the election have presented to' the City Council the certified results of said election; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach has assembled together on this 4th day of December, 1974, for the purpose of canvassing the election returns, and certifying the results, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That upon the canvass of the election returns as presented to it by the certification of the Clerks and Inspectors of the election, the City Council finds: That 3315 registered electors voted as follows on the following issue: ORDINANCE NO. 58-74 CHARTER AMENDMENT Shall the Charter of the City of Delray Beach be amended to change the General Elections to the first and third Tuesday of March in each year commencing in March, 1976; establishing a filing period for candidates; providing for qualifications, time, manner and costs of qualifying as candidates to be regulated by ordinances; providSng for election of candidate on first nonpartisan election; providing for special elections; providing for the principal of state election laws to govern when not in conflict with the Charter; providing extension of time in office for elected officials as of October 1, 1975; providing for repealing Charter provisions in conflict herewith; providing October 1, 1975 as the effective date as set forth in Ordinance No. 58-74. FOR 2288 AGAINST 1027 SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida does hereby certify the tabulations and results of the referendum election held in and for the City of Delray Beach on the 3rd day of December, 1974, as hereinbefore set forth. SECTION 3. That this resolution and its contents be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, on this the 4th day of December, 1974.
