A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUIRING PLANS, SPECIFI-
CATIONS AND ESTIMATE OF COST TO CONSTRUCT SIDE-
WALKS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF S. E. THIRD STREET
BETWEEN S. E. THIRD AND FOURTH AVENUES; ALSO ON
THE EAST SIDE OF VENETIAN DRIVE COMMENCING AT
MIRAMAR DRIVE AND EXTENDING NORTHERLY A DISTANCE
OF FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY (470) FEET.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray Beach,
Florida, may deem it to be necessary for the safety, welfare
and convenience of the public to construct sidewalks, five (5)
feet in width, on the north side of that part of Southeast
Third Street hereinabove described} also on the east side of
that portion of Venetian Drive commencing at Miramar Drive and
extending northward therefrom a distance of four hundred and
seventy (470) feet,~/the City of Delray Beach, Palm Beach County,
Florida, to share in the cost of such improvement with the
owners of lands abutting thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be required to sub-
mit plans, specifications and an estimate of the cost of such
improvements~ to'be .ma~e, and that the~same Shall be..placed on
file in the office of the City Manager.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Delray Beach, Florida on this the 10th day of June, 1968.

Subject: Proposed sidewalk replacement North Side S.E.3rd Strect
between S.L. 3rd and 4 th Avenue.
1. There is an existing sidewalk in tho proposed area which
varies 4 to 10 inches below street grade. The majority of
the sidewalk is covered with sand, shell rock and lawns.
2. ~n average of two feet oC lawns and four sprinkler heads
will have to removed from the westerly 1~2 feet.
3. The easterly 50 feet of existing sidewalk is usable but is
4 inches below street grade. A new sidewalk coul(! be const-
ructed over the existing walk.
4. Two of the ti:tee abutting property owners desire a new side-
walk. The one objection is from Dr.~ohn Erman who recently
installed a new sprinkler system and lawn.
5. The cost of materials For a new 5 Foot sidewalk between
S.L. 3rd and 4th Avenue, a distance a distance of 265 feet,
will be ~ 233.75
