Res 09-67 RESOLUTION NO. 9-67. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, PROCLAIMING SATURDAY, MAY 20, 1967, TO BE ARMED FORCES DAY. WHEREAS the survival of our cherished freedoms is de- pendent in large measure upon the capabilities of our armed forces to discourage totalitarian aggression; and WHEREAS the Armed Forces of the United States serve as a unified team, at home and across the seas, in ~e pursuit of a durable peace; and WHEREAS the strength of o~ armed forces rests not alone upon their active and reserve members, or industrial productiv- ity, and our human resources, but also upon the understanding and support of an informed American people; and WHEREAS we seek to acknowledge and to manifest our appre- ciation for the dedication and self-sacrifice of the members of our armed forces and their families: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~SOLVED by the City Council of the City of Delray Beach, Florida, that the City of Delray Beach hereby acknowledges its great indebtedness to those fellow Americans who willingly serve this great Country, both in ACTIVE and RESERVE forces in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. We also ask oR fellow Americans, as an expression of their support for ~e Armed Forces and as a symbol of our unity in devotion to the preservation of our Country, to display, prominently, the Flag of the United States on ARMED FORCES DAY, May 20th, 1967. We further ask our Citizens to join with us in a positive demonstration of our support by attending the ARMED FORCES DAY PARADE to be held in the City of West Palm Beach, along Flagler Drive at 2:00 PM on May 20th, 1967.
