A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA IN APPRECIATION AND
COMMEMORATION OF Tf~ NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS IN
THIS AREA ~F60 CONTRIBUTED TO THE OUTSTANDING
SUCCESS OF THE LOUISE SUGGS-DELRAY BEACH IN-
VITATIONAL L.P.G.A. GOLF TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS, the LOUISE SUGGS-DELRAY BEACH INVITATIONAL L.P.G.A. GOLF
TO~I~N~MENT was held in this City on March 25, 26 and 27, 1966~ and
WHEREAS, this was one of the greatest and most successful events
ever put on in Del=ay Beach, drawing many renowned golfers into the
competition and providing many thrills for the thousands of s~ecta-
tots who witnessed the tournament~ and
WHEREAS, the success of this event was achieved only as a result
of the cooperation and diligent efforts of numerous individuals work-
ing individually, and with committees as well as the financial support
of the 100 certificate holders who guaranteed the financial success of
the tournament; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on behalf of the citizen~ of this com-
munity, being desirous that this tremendous joint effort be recogniz-
ed, acclaimed and permanently recorded;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DELRAY BEACH:
Section 1. That without attempting to be exhaustive the follow-
ing individuals and committees are hereby commended for their untiring
efforts and cooperation in sponsoring the LOUISE SUGGS-DELRAY BEACH
INVITATIONAL L. P. G.A. GOLF TOURNAMENT:
Louise Suggs & Ed Galloway, Co-Chairmen.
The members of the Chamber of Commerce
L.P.G.A. Committee.
The 100 Certificate holders.
The members of the Delray Beach Police and
Fire Departments who volunteered their services.
Robert Bruce Harris, owner of the Delray Beach
Country Club.
The Tournament Committee.
Section 2. That the City Council further urges the persons re-
sponsible for this tournament to give serious consideration to making
this an annual event.
