Res 27-66 RESOLUTION NO. 27-66.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING
ACTIVE STEPS BE TAKEN TO EFFECT EARLY
CONCLUSION OF THE WAR IN VIET NAM.
WHEREAS, the United States of America has for
many months last past been engaged in certain combative
warfare in Vier Nam, wherein numerous American citizens
have been wounded or killed and extensive damage and loss
of American property has been sustained= and
WHEREAS, a continuation of the present strategy
of containing the enemy in this matter is deemed futile;
and
WHEREAS, it is believed that the United States
of America presently possesses the strategic and tactical
military strength to terminate this conflict in victory at
the present time ~
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council
of the CITY CF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, that President Lyndon
B. Johnson, Senators Spessard Holland and ~eorge Smathers,
and Congressman Paul G. Rogers, are hereby earnestly and
spectfully urged to utilize the full powers and influence of
their respective offices to bring the existing war in Vier
Nam to an immediate and victorious conclusion and to further
provide for the early return of our fighting men in said area
to their homes and families.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution
be memorialized to each of the above-named officials.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of June, A. D. 1966.
