Res 51-65 RESOLUTION NO. 51-65 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, IN HONOR AND DEEP APPRECIATION OF ~%RREN G. GRIMES. W~EREAS, the Christmas Lighting Committee of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce has recently been confronted with the problem of replacing the Christmas tree which has an- nually been erected on the beach in this community; and WHEREAS, WARREN G. GRIMES has offered to purchase a new tree which will be superior to any of the former trees, and which should last for many years; and WHEREAS, throughout the years the City of Delray Beach has received many contributions from said W~/~REN G. GRIMES, including the annual July 4th fireworks display; how- ever, many have gone unnoticed; and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous that the generosity of WARREN G. GRIMES be recognized, acclaimed and permanently recorded; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T~E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DELRA¥ BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: In honor and deep appreciation of the many phil- anthropic activities of ~%RREN G. GRIMES which have so greatly benefitted the citizens of this community, we hereby declare that Friday, November 26, 1965, shall be "~%RREN G. GRIMES DAY". It is further resolved that the City Manager, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, shall arrange an appropriate ceremony in further commemoration of his generosity.
