A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA, CHANGING
THE NAME OF THAT PORTION OF DIXIE BOULE-
VARD LYING BETWEEN SOUTH SWINTON AVENUE
AND S. W. 4th AVENUE TO SOUTHRIDGE ROAD.
WHEREAS, an unsatisfactory condition exists within
the City as a result of two Streets in opposite parts of
the City being identified by the same name, namely DIXIE
BOULEVARD, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Delray
Beach, Florida, deems it in the best interests of the
residents of the City that the name Dixie Boulevard, as
now exists and lying between South Swinton Avenue and
S. W. 4th Avenue be changed to SOUTHRIDGE ROAD.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA:
1. That the name of that portion of DIXIE BOULEVARD
lying between South Swinton Avenue and S. W. 4th Avenue, in
Section 20, Township 46 South, Range 43 East, be and the same
is hereby changed to SOUTHRIDGE ROAD.

Gentlemen:
The Post Office department in Delray Beach made a request to the
City to clarify the confusion of having two DIXIE BOULEVARDS in
the city.
The Planning Board unanimously recommends that from South Swinton
Avenue~ where the present Dixie Boulevard starts~ to South West 4th
Avenue~ the city limits, that this street be renamed SOUTHRIDGE ROAD.

will be held by the City Council at its next
regular meeting to be held at 8:00 P.M., Monday,
December l~th, for the purpose of considering a
change in the name of that part of Dixie Boulevard
lying between South Swinton Avenue and S. W. 4th
Avenue, to SOUTHRIDGE ROAD.
Any objection to such change in street name
should either be made in person at said Council
meeting, or by mail addressed to the City Clerk.
Enclosed is a copy of the proposed Resolution
concerning said street name change.
