ATTEST: ........... ,. , ~'~i~z Clerk Feb~ual-y 8, 1965 M 0HANDUM_ ~o; City ~anager Holland Subject: Paving Homewood Blvd. - Agenda item In accordance with cum previous conversation, I have received a verbal quotation f~om Ha~drives Construction Co. for g~ading and pavin~ t~xat portion of Homewood Blvd. between the existing pavement and Lowson Blvd. in t}~e ~ount of '99,800. This is an extremely low amount (amounting to approximately $1.60 per square yard) due to t~xe fact t~at ~arch-ives as prime contractor for the Atlantic Avenue widening Job has his equipment working in that vicinity. The usual coat of opening, grading and paving is from ~.45 to ~*2.65 per square yamd. In t~ia case the city ~as already done some work at =.~ls location and no additional stablizing material would be required by the contractor, although considerable grading is yet to ~e done. A verbal quotation from another contractor, w~ was requested to bid on t~i~ type of work, was appz~ximately ~12,000 for this Job. T~xls is an assessment Job and if Council approves Harcbrives bid, a regular contract will be executed before proceeding with the woz-k. Ma~k C. Fleming :~CF ~mm City Engineer
